Missouri Wing is saddened to announce the passing of Lt. Col. Sandra Potocki, who died on April 17 at the age of 72.
The former Director of Recruiting and Retention for Missouri Wing, Lt. Col. Potocki also served with the Table Rock Lake Composite Squadron, the Springfield Regional Composite Squadron, and Group V Headquarters in the following capacities: administrative officer, health services officer, logistics officer, personnel officer, plans and programs officer, and professional development officer. Additionally, she served previously as the commander of the Table Rock Lake Composite Squadron as well as the deputy commander for seniors of both squadrons.
Lt. Col. Potocki’s CAP awards included the Membership Award, the Unit Citation Award, the Search “Find” Ribbon, the Commander’s Commendation, the Brigadier General Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager Aerospace Education Achievement Award, the Benjamin O. Davis Award, the Grover Loening Aerospace Award, the Paul E. Garber Award, and the U.S. Air Force Organizational Excellence Award. She held specialty track master ratings in administration and personnel; and technician ratings in aerospace education, cadet programs, emergency services and recruiting and retention.
Lt. Col. Potocki completed an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Ashworth College in 2009 and completed additional allied health course work at South University in 2012. She worked in the security field, most recently as security site supervisor for American Citadel Guard.
A private service was held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery on April 23rd. The service was let by Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Mark Lenneville of the Table Rock Lake Composite Squadron.
